Game systems
All 25 systems →Progression 7
Account-wide collections and reputation perks Collections and Legacy Points are account-wide within the non-Hardcore rulesets. Game Informer reports new reputations that give account-wide perks. Official Itemization rework Classic stats are kept but reworked, and all dungeon drops were re-examined. Official Legacy system (Legacy Points, Legacy Challenges, Legacy trees, Legacy Reward Track) Account-wide progression that rewards leveling alts. Points come from Legacy Challenges and are shared by the account, but each character spends them in its own Legacy talent trees. Official Level 60 cap, indefinitely / horizontal progression The level cap stays at 60 with no planned increases. New content expands Azeroth sideways instead of adding vertical expansions. Official Leveling pace / dungeon XP change XP from killing dungeon monsters is sharply reduced while dungeon quest XP is greatly increased, so a first run pays off and repeat grinding does not. Official No flying mounts, no level scaling Core design rules: the world stays dangerous, and challenge comes from preparation and cooperation. Official Talents, racials and new race/class combinations Talent trees keep the familiar structure with new milestones. Racials are redesigned. Six new race/class combinations are added. Official
Server 7
'Self-found' trade restriction mode & 'Quest Time Link' (datamined, unverified) A Sept 17 2026 fan beta-datamine tracker claims two additional systems in the client: a 'self-found' mode that restricts trade channels for players who opt in, and a 'Quest Time Link' that syncs party members' quest progress. Unverified Anti-bot / anti-boosting No official anti-bot or anti-cheat details found. The only stated anti-boosting measure is the dungeon XP change, along with no WoW Token and no paid boosts. Unverified Hardcore ruleset Permadeath ruleset arriving after launch as a closed ecosystem. Characters that die can transfer out to other rulesets. Official No PTR for raid content / item-stat obfuscation Forever will not put future raid tiers on a public test realm, and item stats stay hidden/obfuscated until an item actually drops in-game, so players cannot build a best-in-slot list before a raid tier releases. Confirmed PvP mega-server: single-faction character lock A fan recap of the Sept 17 2026 beta dev Q&A reports that Blizzard confirmed the PvP mega-server locks each account/character to one faction (pre-patch-3.2-style), citing faction balance and anti-scouting reasons. Reported Realmless play / Rulesets ('No realms') Players pick a ruleset instead of a realm. Each ruleset works as one large ecosystem rather than a traditional realm. Official Sept 17 beta dev Q&A: GDKP ban, no heroic tier, built-in meters, paid ruleset transfers At the official beta-launch dev Q&A (Sept 17 2026), relayed by Warcraft Tavern, Blizzard said: GDKP-style raid-slot buying/selling will not be allowed; there is no separate heroic difficulty tier for dungeons or raids; DPS meters, cooldown trackers and swing timers will be built into the default UI rather than left to addons; and switching between rulesets (Normal/PvP/RP/Hardcore) will require a paid character-transfer service rather than being unsupported outright as earlier reporting suggested. Confirmed
QoL 3
Addon / UI policy Forever uses Mainline (Modern) WoW's UI architecture, including the Midnight addon 'disarmament' restrictions. Official Official gamepad support Built-in controller support, announced for Forever only. Official Opt-in Transmogrification Transmog is optional and can be turned off entirely. It keeps armor-type restrictions. Official
Graphics 2
Environment graphics upgrade (lighting, GI, volumetric fog, water, shadows) The world gets new lighting and global illumination, volumetric fog and god rays, a new water renderer and real-time shadows. Artists applied it zone by zone. Official HD/SD character model toggle and Classic animations Players can choose High-Definition or Standard-Definition character models. Restored Classic animations are available on HD models, alongside modern and Classic visual presets. Official
Other 2
Hidden discoveries (anti-datamine design) Some new items and secrets are intentionally hidden from dataminers so players discover them in-game, in the style of Season of Discovery. Confirmed PvP honor ranks and Darkspear Islands battleground A new 15v15 battleground and a seasonal PvP rank track. Official
Social 2
Camping The Cooking Fire becomes a Basic Campfire. Placing one in the outdoor world creates a campsite where players rest, get buffs, and add crafted profession objects. Official Group finding (Meeting Stones, no auto-queue teleport) Groups form by hand. There is no one-button queue that teleports players into content, and raid sizes are fixed. Official
